In a 1st, food waste from Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja pandal to generate power for hospitals

In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Mumbai's civic body will use wet waste generated at the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Mandal to produce electricity for municipal hospitals during this year's Ganesh festival. Under the 'Prasad to Power' plan, around 8-10 metric tonnes of food and organic waste will be processed daily during the 11-day festival, generating about 7,744 units of electricity.
