In a 1st, GPS-fitted Lapwings released in Bihar to study bird patterns
In a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, four River Lapwings were fitted with GPS-GSM tracking tags and released at the Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary in Bihar's Bhagalpur. The initiative aims to study the birds' patterns, habitat use and behaviour in order to support conservation efforts. Bhagalpur DFO released the first tagged bird as part of the initiative.
