In a big win, Marathi film picked for Oscars after 11 yrs: 'Gondhal' director

After Marathi film 'Gondhal' was selected as India's official entry for the Oscars this year, filmmaker Santosh Davakhar said, "It feels like I'm going to the Olympics." Davakhar called this a "big win for regional cinema," adding that 'Gondhal' is the 1st Marathi Oscar entry in 11 years. The last Marathi film picked for the Oscars was 'Court' in 2015.
