In a first, SpaceX mission astronauts to grow stem cells in space
SpaceX's Axiom Space Ax-2 mission astronauts will grow induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) on the International Space Station, marking the first time stem cells will be grown in space. They will test how limited gravity influences the development of heart and brain cells. Researchers say one of the main issues with producing iPSCs on Earth may involve gravity-induced tension.
