In new move, Anthropic to now let AI agents operate real scientific machines

Anthropic has rolled out a research preview of its Model Hardware Standard (MHS), enabling AI agents to control scientific and manufacturing equipment. It supports devices such as microscopes and robotic arms for tasks including drug discovery and quantum-computer calibration. It aims to reduce hardware integration from weeks to minutes while providing a safer interface for autonomous operations.
