Thousands of men participated in the Pulikali Tiger Dance during the Onam celebrations in Kerala this week. The men, who were painted like tigers, danced to the beats of the traditional Thakil and Udukku instruments during the 'play of the tigers' dance. This year, three women also participated in the male-dominated Pulikali dance for the first time.
