In Pictures: World's coldest inhabited city

Yakutsk is considered the world's coldest inhabited city of its size, with an average temperature of −34° C during the winter months. The Russian city, which was photographed by Amos Chapple, has over 2.6 lakh residents. It is a two-day drive from Oymyakon village, the world's coldest inhabited area, where the average winter temperature is -50° C.
