Independent candidate Ashish Sharma wins from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh

Independent candidate Ashish Sharma on Thursday won from Hamirpur in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections by defeating his Congress rival Pushpinder Verma. He defeated Verma by a margin of 12,899 votes. Meanwhile, Congress is ahead on 39 seats in the state, making the party take a lead on majority seats in the 68-member Assembly, ECI trends showed.
