Independent candidate Haji Hanifa Jan wins Ladakh Lok Sabha seat

Independent candidate Haji Hanifa Jan won the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, defeating Congress' Tsering Namgyal by a margin of over 27,000 votes. Jan, a former Kargil district chief of the National Conference (NC), secured 65,259 votes. Tashi Gyalson, from the BJP which won the seat in 2014 and 2019, finished third, securing 31,956 votes.
