India, Indonesia to jointly develop Sabang port which overlooks Strait of Malacca

India and Indonesia have agreed to jointly develop strategic Sabang port, which overlooks the Strait of Malacca and is around 160 km away from India's Great Nicobar port project, to boost connectivity, according to reports. To strengthen critical mineral supply chains, India has also decided to invest in the manufacturing of steel, nickel and rare earth permanent magnets in Indonesia.
