India, South Korea sign Article 6.2 pact for carbon market

India and South Korea have signed a pact under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement to enable cross-border carbon trading. The deal allows exchange of emissions reductions (ITMOs), boosting cost-effective climate action. It supports India`s net-zero 2070 goal and South Korea`s 2050 target while attracting climate finance and strengthening clean energy cooperation.
