India, US extend 2% digital tax on e-commerce supplies till Sunday

India and the US have extended a 2% equalisation levy or digital tax imposed by India on e-commerce supplies until Sunday (June 30). Both countries reached a political compromise on the matter in 2021. The validity of this deal was till March 31, 2024, or till the implementation of Pillar 1 of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) agreement.
