India allows 99,150 metric tonnes of onion exports to 6 countries

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs on Saturday announced it has approved 99,150 metric tonnes of onion exports to Bangladesh, UAE, Bhutan, Bahrain, Mauritius and Sri Lanka. It has also allowed exports of 2,000 metric tonnes of white onions cultivated especially for markets in the Middle East and some European countries. The government imposed a ban on onion exports last year.
