India among top 3 global suppliers of trained seafarers: Govt data

According to the government, India is among top three global suppliers of trained seafarers, with over three lakh Indians working in maritime sector in 2025, up from 1.25 lakh a decade ago. Indian seafarers work in specialised roles like captains, navigation officers and marine engineers, helping move crude oil, LPG and consumer goods across the world, a Firstpost report added.
