India approves its 1st-ever satellite-based landing system for helicopter operations

India has achieved a major milestone with the approval of the country’s first Private Point-in-Space (PinS) Instrument Approach Procedure for helicopter operations at Undavalli Heliport. The satellite-based navigation system enables helicopters to make safe, precise instrument approaches without conventional landing infrastructure. This is beneficial in areas lacking ground-based navigation aids.
