India approves ₹20,000 crore deal for 335 K-9 Vajra howitzers

India's Defence Ministry cleared a ₹20,000 crore proposal to procure 335 additional K-9 Vajra self-propelled howitzers for deployment along China and Pakistan borders. The guns, with over 70% indigenous content, will be manufactured by L&T under Make-in-India. The Army already operates 200 such howitzers, effective in Ladakh's extreme cold conditions.
