India asks Bangladesh to restrain extremist groups after protests over insult to Lord Ram

After protests erupted in Bangladesh against the alleged insult of Lord Ram, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal asked the Bangladesh government to restrain extremist groups and guarantee the protection of minorities. "We have seen reports from Bangladesh that unholy acts took place with portraits of Hindu gods," he added. A torchlight procession was held in Dhaka last week.
