India, B'desh observe 'Maitri Diwas' to mark 50 yrs of friendship

India and Bangladesh commemorated 'Maitri Diwas' on Monday to mark 50 years of establishment of diplomatic ties and friendship between the two countries. "I look forward to continue working with...PM Sheikh Hasina to further expand and deepen our ties," PM Narendra Modi tweeted. Ten days before the liberation of Bangladesh, India had recognised Bangladesh on December 6, 1971.
