India can target 8-10% of global container manufacturing capacity

India could aim to capture 8-10%t of global container manufacturing capacity. This translate into annual production of 4.8-6 lakh TEUs, within 5 years, a recent report said. It recommends a coordinated national container manufacturing mission, competitive access to container-grade steel, port-linked manufacturing clusters & assured procurement commitments from shipping lines & leasing companies.
