India develops 1st indigenous expendable turbo jet engine in 350 kg thrust class

India has developed its first indigenous expendable turbojet engine in 350 kg thrust class. It's designed for single-use applications like unmanned aerial vehicles, target drones and cruise missiles. It was designed by DRDO's Gas Turbine Research Establishment and manufactured by Azad Engineering. It was handed over to scientist and Director General (Aeronautical Systems), Dr K Rajalakshmi Menon.
