India e-way bills hit record 140.6 million in March, up by 12% YoY

E-way bill generation crossed 140.6 million in March, the highest in the GST regime that was rolled out in July 2017, reflecting buoyant business activity and improved compliance. The figure was 6% higher than the previous month and 12% higher YoY. An e-way bill is an electronic document that evidences the movement of goods indicating tax paid on them.
