India emerges as world’s hottest region amid severe heatwave

Amid a severe heatwave, India accounts for nearly all of the world's hottest cities, with around 96 places featuring in the global top 100. Several regions have recorded temperatures above 40°C, with some nearing 45°C, highlighting the widespread and intense nature of the current weather conditions.
