India eyes doubling US LPG imports to reduce Gulf reliance: Report

India's state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) are considering nearly doubling contracted LPG imports from the US from the current 2.2 million tonnes annually, TOI reported. The move aims to reduce the country's dependence on Gulf suppliers and ensure a more stable cooking gas supply during periods of geopolitical uncertainty and potential disruptions to energy trade routes.
