India first team to reach T20 World Cup final as defending champions

India have become the first team to reach T20 World Cup final as defending champions. India defeated England by seven runs in the semi-final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to reach their second consecutive T20 World Cup final and fourth final overall. India have also become the second host team after Sri Lanka in 2012 edition to reach the final.
