India growing old faster than it's getting rich, warns study

India is growing old faster than it's getting rich, a new study has warned. By 2050, one/five Indians (around 347 million people) will be over the age of 60, with nearly seven/ten older adults living in rural India. The number of working-age adults available to support each older person may fall sharply from 8.4 in 2001 to 5.2 by 2026.
