India had highest number of diabetic people in the world in 2022: Lancet
India accounted for the highest number of diabetics in 2022, with more than a fourth of 828 million globally, a report by the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC) and WHO revealed. The report, published in The Lancet, said that in 2022, there were nearly 212 million diabetic people in India. Of these, around 133 million were not on any treatment.
