India has 1/6th of world's population, not 1/6th of its problems: MEA hits back at Norwegian reporter

MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George defended India's human rights record during a press briefing in Norway after a Norwegian journalist questioned why India should be trusted on press freedom and minority rights. He said India has one-sixth of the world's population, but not one-sixth of its problems. "We have a constitution which guarantees fundamental rights of the people," he added.
