India has huge potential for renewable energy: Centre

India's renewable energy potential stood at 21,09,655 MW as of March 2024, with steady growth in supply and consumption. Wind power leads with 11,63,856 MW (55%), followed by solar (7,48,990 MW) and large hydro (1,33,410 MW), as per the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
