India is making 28nm chips but best chips in phones are 3nm: Rajan
The chips India is planning to manufacture will be 28 nanometer, "if all goes well" with the Centre's chip manufacturing plan, said former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan. However, "state-of-the-art in modern cell phones [are] three nanometer chips (more sophisticated chips have lower nanometer)", he said. We've to subsidise few generations of chip factories to reach manufacturing frontier, he added.
