India issues statement on polls in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, calls it 'cosmetic exercise'

The Centre has said that the "so-called" Legislative Assembly elections in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are an "attempt by Pakistan to camouflage its illegal occupation and hide its grave human rights violations in the region". Calling it a "cosmetic electoral exercise", it added that areas under Pakistan's "illegal and forcible occupation, are integral and inalienable parts of India".
