After four decades of being Nepal's sole fuel provider, India lost that status as Nepal inked an agreement with China for supply of petroleum products. Nepal Oil Corporation and China National United Oil Corporation finalised the deal on Wednesday. The decision taken to address fuel shortage, owing to alleged blockades by India over Nepal's new Constitution, may affect Indo-Nepal ties.
