India manufactures, test-fires first fully indigenous AK-203 'Sher' rifle
India has manufactured and test-fired the first fully indigenous AK-203 'Sher' assault rifle at the Korwa facility in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi. Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL) said every component and input material was sourced from Indian industry. The prototype has undergone firing, including burst firing, with Army trials planned for September.
