India may be paying for Iranian oil largely in rupees: Report

India is likely settling most payments for Iranian crude oil in rupees, while routing some transactions through third countries, Moneycontrol reported. The mechanism uses a mix of local-currency settlement, trade adjustments and offshore routing, depending on the transaction. Recently, India confirmed it has secured part of its crude oil requirements from Iran.
