India may double canal on Chenab to divert nearly 4x more water from Pak: Report

India is considering plans to significantly increase its water intake from the Chenab river that supplies water to Pakistan, Reuters reported, citing sources. One key plan being examined is the doubling of the Ranbir canal on the Chenab, which will allow India to divert 150 cubic meters of water/second, up from about 40 cubic meters, as per the report.
