India must strengthen its global pharma innovation footprint

India remains a leading global supplier of generic medicines and vaccines, but a NITI Aayog report says it must expand its presence in high-value pharmaceutical segments such as biologics, immunologicals and advanced therapeutics. With only a 2.8% share in global pharma and API exports, experts see significant growth opportunities through innovation and export diversification.
