India needs 20,000 pilots to meet travel demand: Aviation Minister

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu stated at a gathering in Udaan Bhawan that to meet rising air-travel demand, India needs 20,000 more pilots and will add 50 new airports in the next five years. To support this, India has ordered 1,700 new planes and launched Electronic Personnel License (EPL) for pilots, becoming second country to do so after China.
