India on highest alert after 3 killed in US strike, orders agencies to 'be ready to respond'

The government has directed all concerned agencies to remain on heightened alert to safeguard Indian seafarers in the Gulf region and surrounding waters. The development comes after a US strike on a ship near Oman killed three Indians sailors. The government also asked the agencies to maintain readiness to respond to any contingency involving Indian seafarers or Indian maritime interests.
