India overtakes Japan to become 3rd most powerful country in Asia: Report

India has surpassed Japan to become third-largest power on the Asia Power Index, a report by Australian think tank Lowy Institute has said. The US and China have been ranked first and second on the index that measures resources and influence to rank countries' power in Asia. Australia is ranked fifth, ahead of Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand.
