India records its highest temperature at 51°C

India witnessed its highest recorded temperature on Thursday after Rajasthan's Phalodi city touched 51°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Earlier on Wednesday, the city touched 50.5°C, nearing the previous record of 50.6°C which was registered in Rajasthan's Alwar in 1956. Further, Ahmedabad has broken its 100-year-old record with a maximum temperature of 48°C.
