India relaxes passport & visa rules for Pakistani, other foreign nationals

India has relaxed passport and visa rules for several categories of foreign nationals. Pakistani nationals who entered India by December 31, 2009, for permanent settlement are exempt from standard passport renewal requirements, subject to conditions. Six minority communities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who arrived by December 31, 2024, are exempt from holding valid travel documents.
