India reservoir levels recover but stay below normal

India's 178 monitored reservoirs held 130.55 BCM (70.66% capacity) as of September 10, down 6.9% from normal and 20.1% below last year. Western, central, and eastern regions are above normal levels, while northern (63.78%) and southern (54.52%) regions lag significantly. Low southern storage raises concerns for rabi irrigation amid elevated food inflation of 5.95%.
