India responds to B'desh's warning over pushback of illegal immigrants after BJP's WB win

India has asked Bangladesh to cooperate and expedite nationality checks of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants for their smooth repatriation from India. This comes after Bangladesh's warning over alleged border pushback incidents after BJP's win in West Bengal. "Over 2,862 cases of nationality verification are pending with Bangladesh, some for over five years," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
