India's 1st indigenous tactical aerostat developed by IIT Delhi, DRDO

India has developed its first indigenous tactical aerostat through a collaboration between IIT Delhi, DRDO, and a domestic startup to support surveillance, communication, and logistics missions. The aerostat can operate at altitudes of up to 20 kilometres and can be equipped with payloads such as cameras or infrared (IR) detectors, IIT Delhi professor BS Butola said.
