India's cooling demand could rise eightfold between 2020 and 2040, and home cooling 11 times, climate expert Dr Arunabha Ghosh said on the podcast. But ACs pump heat outside, creating 'urban heat islands' in dense cities, he warned. "The problem we're solving is compounding the problem," he said, adding the world's biggest cooling demand will come from India.
