India’s bioeconomy surges 20-fold to $195 bn: Dr Jitendra Singh

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said India’s bioeconomy grew nearly 20-fold to $195 billion in 2025 from $10 billion in 2014, with 17-18% annual growth. Highlighting BIRAC’s role, he noted biotechnology’s impact on healthcare, agriculture, climate solutions, and sustainable manufacturing, aiming for a $300 billion bioeconomy by 2030.
