India's elderly population expected to double by 2050: UNFPA

The elderly population of India is expected to double by 2050, according to UNFPA India chief Andrea Wojnar. She said the number of individuals who're 60 years of age and above is projected to double to 346 million in 2050. She added this'll necessitate more investment in healthcare and pensions, especially for older women who're "more likely to live alone".
