India's foreign reserves rise by $14 bn, most since March 2025

India's foreign exchange reserves jumped by $14.167 billion, most since March 2025, to $701.4 billion in the week ending January 16, RBI said. A rally in gold prices and a gain in value of non-dollar assets helped reserves rise. It climbed to an all-time high of $704.89 billion in September 2024 but has been affected due to volatilities in rupee.
