India’s highway development sees 90% capex boost in 5 years: MoRTH

Secretary MoRTH has highlighted that capex allocation for the department has surged by 90% from Rs 1.42 lakh crore in FY20 to Rs 2.72 lakh crore in FY25. The average annual construction rate of highway development is 2.4 times higher in 2014-2024 from 2004-2014. This increase underscores government's focus on building robust infrastructure to meet needs of a growing economy.
