India’s oil major enters the strategic critical minerals race

As critical minerals become central to energy security and industrial policy, Oil India is expanding beyond oil and gas into minerals such as graphite, vanadium, potash, and rare earths. Backed by the National Critical Mineral Mission, the strategy spans domestic exploration and overseas partnerships, aiming to reduce import dependence in EVs, fertilisers, defence, and technology supply chains.
