India's peak power demand hits record high for 3rd consecutive day
India’s peak power demand touched a new record of 265.44 GW at 3:45 pm on Wednesday. "The levels surpassed yesterday's peak demand (solar hours) of 260.45 GW, which was also successfully met," Ministry of Power said. This marks third consecutive day of record-high demand being achieved. The surge comes amid an intense heatwave, driving up electricity consumption in the country.
